Introduction

Money forms the foundation of most societal dealings and is crucial for survival. However, many struggle with their finances. They find it difficult to save and invest. Some have a difficult time with finding a steady job or source of income. It is in these situations that astrology can provide some useful guidance.

In Indian astrology, the birth chart provides fundamental understanding of a person's life and what they receive, and it is from here that we gauge information about a person's wealth.

Note that even if the birth chart mentions something, it is possible to change it through our actions. Astrology is not fatalistic but only mentions some tendencies that are innate. By understanding these, it is possible to change them as well. With that said, let's consider the aspects of your birth chart that talk about wealth.

Second house

We split the entire zodiac into twelve signs. The sign with the ascendant is called the "first house" and we count progressively from there from one to twelve.

The second house denotes wealth. This is the first thing to check in the birth chart when considering about the financial sitation of a person.

Most importantly, we need to consider the planets situated in the second house and the planet that owns this house. Each planet's presence creates a specific effect on the person's life. When we say "consider", we mean look at the planet, look at the corresponding effects that it is creating and address that planet with effective remedies.

Other houses

Other important houses to also consider:

  • 11th house - represents income
  • 12th house - represents expenses

If addressing the effects of planets in the 2nd house is not sufficient, it may be a specific problem related to income or expenses. If the specific case relates to only income or expenses, consider these houses and planets located in them instead. If the problem is about saving and growing wealth, the focus should be on the 2nd house.

Effects of each planet

The list below provides some basic correspondences of each planet. The planets in the second house should be checked with these:

  • Sun: father, authorities
  • Moon: mother, mind, arts
  • Mars: siblings, courage, activity
  • Mercury: intellect, learning, writing
  • Jupiter: teachers, ethics, teaching
  • Venus: spouse, arts, luxury products or services
  • Saturn: servants, cleaning, disciple
  • Rahu: theives, fraud, hidden things
  • Ketu: obstacles

Bringing It Together

The steps you'll follow would be something like this:

  • Note the planets in the 2nd house
  • Look at their effects and form an interpretation, e.g. the presence of Rahu can indicate a person becoming victim to cheating, while Sun would indicate higher authorities
  • If the planets are strong, wealth would come from such sources, or that problems due to these are avoided.
  • If the planets are weak, the person could have problems from these sources, and face obstacles.
  • Align savings and investment so that it matches that of the strong planets.
  • Find remedies for weak planets.

Follow the steps and have a happy and wealthy lifw.
